Chris Bavin is a TV presenter and judge who spent the first 20 years of his career working with fresh produce, sparking his passion for healthy, high-quality food that doesn’t break the bank!

When creating his latest Book, Fakeaway, Chris’ focus was on encouraging people to stop spending all their money on takeaways and instead cook their own, healthy, quick, and equally delicious versions at home. Chris’ in-depth knowledge of healthy produce as well as money saving tips from his presenting role on Eat Well For Less, ensures this aim is met in recipes throughout the cookbook. Chris’ first solo cookbook was Good Food, Sorted, published by DK in 2019.

In addition to the highly regarded Eat Well For Less, Chris has also presented Tomorrow’s Food with Dara O’Briain and The Truth about Meat; he is co-presenter of BBC1’s returning series Food: Truth or Scare with Gloria Hunniford. Chris presented two series of BBC2’s Britain in Bloom and most recently Chris can be seen co-judging the BBC1 Primetime series Best Home Cook with Mary Berry, Angela Hartnett and hosted by Claudia Winkleman.

Being the father of three young children himself, Chris emphasises the importance of educating and raising awareness in children of where their food comes from, encouraging them to learn how to increase their consumption of fruit and veg – a challenging task as many parents know!
