This is a question even the best and the brightest I’ve met had issues answering sound and clear. Therefore, I was eager to read this book and although I’m not religious and Christensen was, I resonated with most of his approach. One heuristic, in particular, stayed with me since I heard it from him: it is easier to tell the truth 100% of the times than 90% of the times. If truth is the default option, you spend no time and energy when saying something. If you have to decide every time if this time you will tell the truth or not, it becomes tiring, confusing and frustrating.Christensen wrote the book to share not what to measure, but how to measure one’s life. He is a big believer in valid theories that should inform our actions and practices, and he makes compelling cases throughout the whole book. He covers individual strategy, relationships, failure, investments, work, family, education, sacrifice, commitment and other important factors that we can influence, not control, with the aim of living a fulfilling and meaningful life.
