Monet 2014 Mini Wall Calendar

Claude Monet was devoted to the pursuit and capture of light—or, rather, of the effects of light on sky, water, and land. Painting quickly to record the impression on canvas before the sunlight’s angle shifted too much, he produced extraordinary, luminous works characterized by flickering brushstrokes, indistinct forms, and a truthful record of what he had seen before him at a particular time on a certain day. Among this calendar’s twelve paintings are Antibes, Afternoon Effect; Grand Canal, Venice; Meadow with Poplars; and Poppy Field in a Hollow near Giverny.
