What a setting! The writing took me to the heat and beauty of the Maldives, which was very much appreciated as it is so soggy outside...
I enjoyed the shifting perspectives, and seeing how things can be interpreted so differently. It allowed a closeness to all of the characters, and helped you understand their actions. Although none of the characters are particularly "likeable", they are very real. I cared about what happens to them.
The time counting down at the start of each chapter really added to the tension and kept me wondering what was going to happen. Made me hurry through the chapters, which are lovely and short. A gripping read.
