- A new book on the influential Italian Futurist artist Umberto Boccioni (1882-1916) - Includes 41 works that have come to light since the publication of the catalogue raisonne in 2016 More than 100 years after his death, the influential Italian Futurist artist Umberto Boccioni continues to surprise scholars and art enthusiasts. This book features 41 paintings, drawings, and one sculpture, which have come to light since the publication of the Catalogo Generale in 2016. This addendum attests to the extraordinary productivity of a career that lasted less than 20 years, yet had an enduring influence on the trajectory of modern art. Included here are preparatory drawings (Boccioni is known to have done studies on paper before picking up his brushes), and previously unpublished finds from abroad. The activity of the Futurists outside of Italy from 1912 to 1915 was extensive, with exhibitions in Paris (1912 and 1913), Berlin (1912 and 1913), London (1912 and 1914) as well as in Brussels (1912), Rotterdam (1913), Leipzig (1914), and San Francisco (1915). Text in English and Italian.
Alberto Dambruoso specializes in Italian art of the sixties, with a particular interest in the Roman group of the “Scuola di Piazza del Popolo." He has curated numerous exhibitions on Italian artists of that period. He is the co-author of the catalogue raisonne of Boccioni's work, along with Maurizio Calvesi.
