Anne Robinson, Karen Saxby
n 1883, French Impressionist master and avid gardener Claude Monet (1840–1926) moved to the Normandy village of Giverny. There he created extensive gardens—including his famed water-lily pond—that challenged him with colorful, endlessly varying subject matter. A century later, photographer and horticultural designer Elizabeth Murray helped restore Monet’s gardens, and each year she returns to photograph them. Detailed descriptions accompany each of her sumptuous images in this calendar.
