The Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art has a long history and was established in 1933 as Japan's second public art museum.
The museum has over 3,700 items in its collection, covering all areas of art, including Japanese paintings, which represent the modern art of Japan, as well as Western paintings, crafts, prints, sculptures and calligraphy.
This book contains 100 carefully selected gems from the collection. Works include Takeuchi Seiho, a representative of the Kyoto art world, and Uemura Shoen, known for his paintings of beautiful women.
