Dialogue and the Art of Thinking Together

The book was recommended to me in 2019, in an academic context, where I needed to coach a team of students, young entrepreneurs in their 20s, on the importance and methods of creating new knowledge together, through dialogue. A challenging topic for young adults, in their 20s.

During my first reading, I found the book profound, yet abstract and somewhat difficult to grasp. I struggled to envision myself teaching its concepts to students who had just completed their high school. But I gave it another chance since I knew the value it could bring to my dear students. This time, my experience was completely different. I don’t know exactly how, but I easily found its inner voice and felt it was talking to me, guiding me in how to look for a genuine dialogue in the same team of students.

The dialogue definition from the book, being "a conversation with a center, not sides", together with some practical ways to build it, was all I needed when observing and guiding that team. Since then, I have incorporated these concepts whenever I encounter people who genuinely want to listen, rather than simply reload information.
